Elaina Swan
Elaina Swan is a lifelong Detroiter and an emerging voice in literary fiction, currently pursuing a Creative Writing and English degree with a Fiction concentration. Her work focuses on quiet, character-driven stories about grief, memory, and working-class endurance in Midwestern and Southern settings. Drawing on her experience as a library page, she writes attentive, place-based narratives that honor overlooked communities, complicated family histories, and the fragile hope that persists after loss.
Influenced by classic film, music, and theater, she is also at work on projects that blur the line between memory and invention.
